tre/molo, in all lowercase and with a forward slash, is the alternate proyect from Jorge Verdin of Clorofila. The typographic nonsense doesn't mean anything in particular, it's
just done so the name looks cooler, like the umlauts in Mötörhead.
The purpose of tre/molo is to explore more personal influences that are not fully mined in his Nortec material, such as 80's synth bands, introspective
atmospherics a la 4AD / Sylvian, dub and other styles, to try to create a more homespun, intimate sound. The main diference between this project and Clorofila,
is that while latter always has tambora y norteña samples as a starting point, with tre/molo, songs start out by playing or sampling standard rock instruments,
and others like mandolin, lap steel, omnichord as well as using found sound, tapes, circuit bent devices and lo-fi junk.
The idea is to try to create electronic music which is pop, organic and slightly nostalgic sounding, while trying to steer clear of whatever retro bandwagon
is hip for the next 15 minutes. On the other hand, whether the music sounds anything like what was originally intended, is a different matter altogether...
